"Environmental extremes" refers to conditions in nature that are either extremely hot, cold, wet, dry, or otherwise intense. It describes situations where the environment is at the far end of a spectrum, such as very high or very low temperatures, excessive rainfall or drought, strong winds, or extreme terrain.
